    The Memphis Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is an American orchestra, established by Vincent DeFrank in 1952 and located in Memphis, Tennessee. Originally the Memphis Sinfonietta group consisted of 21 performers and had been performing at the Goodwyn Institute. Due to the growing popularity, the ensemble moved to the Ellis Auditorium, Memphis and became the full Orchestra by 1960.
