About

In Autumn 1979, core members of the Port Costa Players moved from the San Francisco area to Seattle, Washington to teach at Cornish College of the Arts. They formed The New Performance Group to perform a wide variety of 20th century music, but focused on the works of living composers based in the U.S.A. Among the artists they worked with were John Cage, Paul Dresher, Janice Giteck, Malcolm Goldstein, Lou Harrison, Bern Herbolsheimer, Bun-Ching Lam, Pauline Oliveros, and Neil Rolnick.
