About

US surf band, active in the 1960s: They were from San Luis Obispo, California. They are notable for a Latino influence in some of their recordings such as the single, Latin'ia (Lateenya) (1962). The band members included John Barbata, Bobby Holmquist, Lee Michaels (then known as Michael Olsen) on keyboards. Tommy Nunes, Harry Sackrider and Ben Trout.

The summer of 1962 saw the group touring the country and they opened for bands such as The Coasters and The Righteous Brothers. That same year, through Norman Knowles the group came into contact with [a1074304]. Later, Hilder's company Anthony Music would become involved in legal action with the Del-Fi Records label, hitting them with a $122,000 lawsuit due to royalties not being paid. This case was related to an alleged agreement for the masters of albums by The Sentinels, The Centurians (see The Centurions), Dave Myers & The Surftones etc..

By 1965, the line up allegedly consisted of John Barbata, Ron Gornell, Kenny Hinkle, Norman Knowles, and Tommy Nuñes.

Barbata would also join the groups, The Turtles, Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship.

They got together in August 1984, and played at the San Luis Obispo Officer's Club for their twenty-year class reunion
