The Servants (1985-1991) The Servants formed in London in 1985, and were based around the carefully crafted song writing of David Westlake. The first two Servants singles, "She's Always Hiding" and "The Sun, A Small Star", attracted good reviews, and both made the independent singles chart. The band played its last show at the Rock Garden in London's Covent Garden. August 21, 1991. Members were: 1st Lineup Philip King - bass John Mohan - guitar David Westlake - guitar, vocals John Wills - drums 2nd Lineup Luke Haines - bass, guitar David Westlake - guitar, vocals Hugh Whitaker - drums 3rd Lineup Andy Bennett - drums Luke Haines - guitar, piano, vocals Alice Readman - bass David Westlake - guitar, vocals
