About

Four high school buddies from Torrance, CA and one brilliant composer from South Pasadena, CA (Steven J. Salazar) formed The Skabbs in 1977 seeking to "out punk the punks" with their deceptively simple songs. They recorded a 5 song demo at Media Arts Recording in Hermosa Beach in January '78, but never released a record until 2012 when Jackpot Records released "Idle Threat" comprised of those recordings and rehearsal material. Salazar died in 1979 of natural causes. The remaining four members reformed in 2008, adding Salazar's brother Mark to the lineup.
