The Starlites

Spanish Ska/rocksteady/soul band formed in 1996 in La Rioja Alavesa (Basque Country) by most of the original members of the Banana Boats. The band was named first as The Fabulous Dolby until they came finally with the actual band's name The Starlites. As the previous band The Banana Boats, their music consists in a blend of Jamaican Soul, Ska and Rocksteady.

Their fisrt release was Rock Steady Explosion, a maxi-CD released by DDT Diskak and produced by what would become Brixton Records. The following years the band toured Spain and entered the studio to record their first full-length album: Bikini Groovy. With this record on hand, they started touring both nationally and internationally, sharing scenario with artists such as Rico Rodriguez and Laurel Aitken, giving them an international status in France—Bikini Groovy was elected No. 1 2002 record for Ragga Magazine—and Japan—when Ska In The World Records released for the Japanese market.
