The Tampa Blue Artistes

Pseudonym used for Seger Ellis and various backing ensembles from his Okeh recordings.

The generic name "Tampa Blue" was applied haphazardly by English Parlophone to all kinds of Okeh bands and singers. (taken from Tampa Blue Jazz Band, a Dixieland-style band directed by Joseph Samuels for Okeh).
