Utrecht, Netherlands After the break-up of their band Slurf, Olaf Koeneman and Léon Geuyen started a new country/rock band The Yearlings in 1999. Over the years more musicians joined the band, which eventually consisted of: Bertram Mourits (Guitar, Keyboard) Herman Gaaff (Bass) Léon Geuyen (Drums, Vocals) Niels Goudswaard (Vocals & Guitar) Olaf Koeneman (Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Keyboard) René van Barneveld (Banjo & Pedalsteel) In March 2006, after two albums and over a 100 concerts, the band announced that they would split. They played a final gig in their hometown Utrecht (The Netherlands) on June 18, 2006.
