Danish composer and musician (b. April 27, 1944 in Örebro, Sweden). In 1965 he got his debut as opera composer with "Historien om en moder". In 1968 he formed the rock group Savage Rose together with his brother Anders Koppel. At that time married to Ilse Maria Koppel. He later married Annisette, the lead singer in the group. Died of a heart attack on February 25, 2006 in Puerto Rico.
Son of classical pianist and composer Herman D. Koppel. Father of Billie Koppel and Naja Rosa (Koppel)
