    American jazz saxophonist player. Born : June 07, 1932 in Fayetteville, North Carolina (USA). Died : August 13, 1974 in New York City, New York (USA). Jazz hard bop tenor saxophonist, known for his work as a sideman with artists such as Kenny Burrell, Freddie Hubbard, Jackie McLean, and Jimmy Smith, as well as several Blue Note albums he recorded as a leader. He died of liver failure resulting from years of drug addiction.
