French-born (from Mulhouse) artist Toog is a musician, a poet and a director. He started his musical career when he met the widely venerated scottish artist Momus. They went on extensive tours together (USA & Japan), playing almost 150 shows. Le Grand Magistery (Wasabi/Bmg) releases Toog's debut album "6633" in the USA, followed by "Easy Toog for beginners". Etienne Jaumet, a recent Domino signature, can be heard playing saxophone on both albums. After his flight from Paris to New York (CMJ Festival) was cancelled (09/11), Toog imagine "Lou Etendue" with Asia Argento (Karaoke Kalk, 2004); an album about love during times of terrorism, inspired by French poet-soldier Apollinaire's "Poems to Lou". In 2008, Toog shot his first movie "Prélude au sommeil" ("Prelude to sleep"), a wonderful documentary about the French electronic music pioneer Jean-Jacques Perrey. It was shown on various festivals such as CIMM (Chicago; march 2010).
