About

French progressive rock band from Paris, 1967 to 1974.The band was founded by bass player Gérald Fournier, nicknamed "Papillon", drummer Jean-Pierre Prevotat and guitarist Pierre Fanen around 1967. Three have turned and played with different variety singers. Pierre Fanen finally left the band to join another new French rock band, ZOO and was replaced by a young guitarist, Alain Renaud. Under this formula, the band was engaged by Pathe-Marconi and recorded a rather psychedelic-prog single, but when the trio made a demo for their second single, the record company refused it, and Alain Renaud left the band. He was replaced by Paul Farges, and saxophonist-flautist-keyboardist, François Jeanneau joined the band. Under this formula, the band recorded its second single, but Paul Farges left the band and was replaced by Marius "Mimi" Lorenzini (ex-Gardians, the band that became 69 Eden Rose,) and the band kept this formula for its first and second albums and for several singles. For some concerts, the band was augmented by a Brazilian percussionist and M.O.T.U.S drummer, Philippe Combelle. In 73, Papillon left the band and was replaced by bass player René Devaux and singer Denis Duhazé. Under this formula, the band recorded its 3rd album and some singles, but while working on its 4th album, Pathe-Marconi stopped the recording sessions, judging their sales too low. Finally, the band auto-produced its last single and split in 74. Alain Renaud founded Tryptique, played with Calliope and with Richard Pinhas and made 3 solo albums. Paul Farges will join Chico Magnetic Band and Century (2 singles), Marius Lorenzini will found Edition Spéciale, François Jeanneau will play with Clearlight, Delired Cameleon Family, Synthesis, Mama Bea on her LP "La Folle" and will record a lot of jazz albums. Papillon will record a solo album. JP Prevotat will join Magnum, Au Bonheur Des Dames, Titanic. Some members play on the album Experience, a double LP for pop dance, along with Martin Circus members. On its first album, some tracks were in French and English; on the two other albums, the tracks were only in French. Their most well-known track, "Peut-Etre demain" (second single) was issued in an English and a Spanish version.
