Trompa ("french horn" in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Brazilian instrumental free-improvisational punk band that plays a particular kind of emotional, mathy, post-hardcore.

Although it has never been officially revealed (its members always refer to themselves in the plural, as "french horn players") it is known that its core members are guitar player Diego Poloni, drummer Pedro Cupertino and bass player Davi Pretto, with a rotating cast of other collaborators, most frequently drummer André Zinelli, but also drummer and trumpet player Felipe Vicente, bass player Rafael Poloni and bass player Dom Pedro.

They are known for their radical left-wing politics [the last song on their release [r19230439] (which have song titles that refer to bank bombings and robberies) is called "A Humanidade Não Será Feliz Enquanto O Último Capitalista Não For Enforcado Nas Tripas Do Último Burocrata" which stands for "Humanity Won't Be Happy Until The Last Capitalist Is Hanged In The Guts Of The Last Bureaucrat" in english, they frequently played in squats, occupations, in events raising funds for radical left-wing causes, they're record "[r23610104]" was recorded live in an occupied school during the biggest educational strike in Brazil's history, and, overall, they have always considered themselves a punk band more than anything]; for their complete autonomy in the production of their output (which always had the phrase "pelo fim da terceirização de nós mesmos" – which stands for "for the end of the outsourcing of ourselves" in english – after the credits for each album); and also for the poetic texts for the promotion of shows and album liner notes as well as the literary and revolutionary references in they're song titles.

To date, Trompa has 14 releases, all of them improvised and recorded live. Before turning into a free-improvisational band, as a quartet (guitar player Diego Poloni, drummer Pedro Cupertino, bass player Davi Pretto, joined by guitar player and clarinetist Gustavo Herscovitz from Os Torto) they recorded a demo with three composed songs that never got to be finished or released.
