Canadian cornetist, singer and bandleader, born November 26, 1908 in Sudbury, Canada, died May 2, 1978 in the same location.
Davidson formed one of the first Canadian jazz bands, The Melody Five, in Sudbury c. 1925, and then played in Toronto with Luigi Romanelli's orchestra 1929-1936. From 1937 to 1942 led own dance band, broadcasting weekly on NBC, and in 1938-1939 toured Great Britain with Ray Noble. From 1944 to 1962 led own dance band in Toronto.
Brother of Ted Davidson.
