Udit Narayan was born on 1 December 1955 in Baisi, Supaul district, Bihar, India. He is playback singer in Bollywood, who is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and other Indo-Aryan languages. He is credited with singing more than 15,000 songs in more than 30 different languages in more than 500 Hindi films. In 2009 he received the Padma Shri award, one of the highest civilian honours given by the government of India.
