A punk band from Salo, Finland. Vaavi was founded in autumn 1978 and lasted until 1982. During the first phase they released two albums and a compilation of their singles. Vaavi made a comeback in 1984 and recorded a third album "Likainen tusina" in 1986 but only two singles were released as the rest of the recordings were shelved. Vaavi faded away by the end of the 80s but has returned since. In 2017 the band released a new album "Viimeinen elävä köyhä", their first new release since 1987. Line-up on most of their records was: Ilkka Isotupa (vocals, guitar) Kari Hipponen (guitar, vocals) Iku Viitanen (bass, vocals) Tommi Micklin (drums)
