Venus was a Belgian girl group created by Rik Vervecken in 1980. The original members of the group were Erika Wielockx, Elvina Rens, Chantal Schnieders, and Leentje Vermeire. Together, they released four singles and competed at the 1981 Eurosong Festival. By 1983, the groups lineup consisted of Cynthia, Christel, Ellen, Chantal and Leen. After competing again in the 1983 Eurosong Festival and releasing an album and a few more singles, the group eventually split up in 1986. Rik Vervecken is the founding father of V.A.K. what stands for Vervecken's Artist Klub. Belgium's really first artist & management agency. It was located in Wilrijk, near Antwerp.
