Violinbwoy

Wojciech Przysiezny, in dub and sound system culture commonly known as
‘Violinbwoy’, is a gifted musician from Wroclaw (Poland). The now well
established dub merchant started his musical teachings at the young
age of ten. After years of dedicated training at a music school in
Poland, he achieved his personal success of mastering the violin.
Moving to the U.K. for a university degree in ‘music production’
helped him shape a real future in sound. It was here where he stumbled
upon the monthly dub session ‘University of Dub’ – the founding place
of his upcoming journey in dub.

This very session and sound inspired Violinbwoy to start creating
dub-influenced music off the edge. It immediately resulted in his
beats being picked up by sound systems and radio stations across
Europe and Western countries. In matter of months, his dubplates
effectively traversed the globe with support from the biggest sound
systems from the likes of ‘Jah Shaka’ & ‘King Earthquake’.

Soon after this positive movement, the Polish producer decided to give
away his first free release in 2012 named ‘Los Alamos’. His
influential sound was quickly recognised by the well-acclaimed
‘Moonshine Recordings’ flagship, which gave him the honour of remixing
‘Ireland’ by ‘Radikal Guru’. The imprint also enabled him to release
his first, highly successful vinyl release ‘Dread Out Deh’ (which sold
out in matter of minutes). This points out that Violinbwoy’s inventive
sound is accredited by the ever-growing dub culture.

The following years Violinbwoy got invited by various promoters to
come play live dub and violin shows across many venues in Europe. In
2014 and 2015 played live violin for Italian sound system ‘Imperial
Sound Army’ founded by the vocalist and producer of Alpha & Omega -
Dan I. All of this has made Violinbwoy a critical part of dub and
sound system culture. With forthcoming releases on Moonshine
Recordings, Archetype Records and Dub Invasion Records, it’s safe to
say that this musically-inclined dub producer just does what he loves
best: crafting his own version of the ‘roots & culture’ sound.
