Vue was a indie rock band from San Francisco, California in the United States.

Guitarist/vocalist Rex John Shelverton, bassist Jeremy Bringetto, and drummer Cary LaScala. were childhood friends who grew up around Half Moon Bay in Northern California. In 1993 with Jonah Buffa they formed hardcore punk band Portraits Of Past, who disbanded in 1995.

Shelverton, Bringetto and Buffa were next in the post-punk band The Audience, who released an album and a single on the Gold Standard Laboratories label. In 1999 they signed to Sub Pop and changed their name to Vue. The name change came about because a pop group in the UK had started using the name after their American counterparts did, but were gaining some press attention and distribution at the time. To avoid any potential confusion, the members of the band voluntarily changed their name to Vue, which is a French word for the past-tense “to have seen”.

The band included Shelverton, Bringetto, Buffa and final drummer Cary LaScala. The band released three albums and disbanded at the end of 2004. Their final show was at The Blank Club in San Jose, California.

Shelverton, Bringetto and LaScala then formed Bellavista.
