Eurípedes Waldik Soriano (Caetité - Bahia, May 13, 1933 - Rio de Janeiro, September 4, 2008) was a Brazilian singer and composer, icon of "brega" music. Born at state of Bahia, the son of Sebastião Manuel Soriano, amethyst dealer in "Brejinho das Ametistas" District. Notable event of his childhood home was the abandonment by his mother, who was very attached.
At Caetité lived his bohemian youth, until an incident at a local club let him to find destination outside the city. Since very young he was an inveterate philanderer and adventurer and, following the path of many country artists, was to try life in São Paulo.
Prior to joining artistic career, he worked as a farm worker, miner and shoeshine. Despite the difficulties, managed to become known in the 50's with the song "Quem És Tu?".
He was conspicuous for his songs about elbow-ache and his revolutionary vision for the season: always wore black clothes and sunglasses.
His biggest hit was "Eu Não Sou Cachorro Não", that was covered in bad English by Falcão. It also became known their other songs such as "Paixão de Um Homem, " "A Carta" "A Dama de Vermelho" and "Se eu morresse amanhã".
