Wesley Wallace

About

American blues pianist.

"It has been plausibly suggested that Sylvester Palmer may in fact be a pseudonym for Wesley Wallace." (Blues and gospel records 1890-1943 (1997), p. 702)
He also accompanied Bessie Mae Smith on two titles in 1929, and probably also Robert Peeples on two titles the same year.

Artist Biography by Bruce Eder
Enigmatic blues pianist Wesley Wallace left behind only a tiny handful of records of his own, "Fanny Lee Blues" b/w "No. 29," both recorded for Paramount in Grafton, WI, in February of 1930. Not much is known about his life, other than the fact that he probably lived just outside of St. Louis, in Alton, MO, and that he may originally have come from Arkansas. His two recordings speak volumes of a prodigious talent who mainly worked as an accompanist to other players on their records.
