Whitey Mitchell (born February 22, 1932, in Hackensack, New Jersey, USA - died January 16, 2009, Palm Springs, California, USA) was an American jazz bassist and television writer/producer. He played in the big bands of Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa and Lester Young. Brother of jazz bassist Red Mitchell.
