German trombonist, vibraphonist, arranger, composer, and conductor, born 22 June 1910 in Düsseldorf, Germany, died 21 May 1979 in Frankfurt am Main, West Germany. Having worked as a band leader from the 1930s onwards, he founded and conducted the HR Tanzorchester after World War II. Was the musical director of the 1957 Eurovision Song Contest in Frankfurt, subsequently conducting three more German Eurovision entries between 1963 and 1966.
