About

German synthpop / darkwave band formed in 1987 in Hamburg.
The band was founded in 1987 by [a201121] and Pompejo Ricciardi, for a few demos also Markus Reinhardt's brother Oliver became part of the band. Ricciardi and Oliver Reinhardt left the band soon and Peter Heppner joined to form a duo with Reinhardt.
In 1991, the duo had its first club hit "The Sparrows And The Nightingales". Further in the 1990's, Wolfsheim became more and more a mainstream band. At their peak in 2003, their album "Casting Shadows" reached #1 in the German album charts and containing the single hit "Kein Zurück", which peaked at #4 of the German Single charts in 2003.
After their big success, however, Wolfsheim started to dissolve the year after. The last public appearance of the band was in mid 2005.
In January 2009 Heppner and Reinhardt split up due to personal differences caused by the solo activities of Heppner. Both fought in court without success to get the right to continue the project Wolfsheim.
