Born: July 4, 1903 in Hightower, Liberty County, Texas Died: September 12, 1970 in Houston, Harris County, Texas Holmes moved to Houston in the early 1930s, worked outside music in Detroit in the early 1940s, returned to Houston c. 1946, recorded for Gold Star (unissued) and Miltone/Gotham in 1947, mostly inactive in music from 1950.
