Yoshiko Shibuya

Graduated at the top of her class from the Tokyo University of the Arts, receiving the Tsuruyo Watanabe Prize. She also completed her graduate studies at the same university, again at the top of her class, and was awarded the Kroyter Memorial Prize.

In 1984, she received the Diplôme Prize at the 5th Claude Kahn International Piano Competition in Paris. In 1986, she won 1st Prize at the French Music Competition, and in 1987, she won the 2nd Japan Contemporary Music Piano Competition.

She has been active across a wide range of fields, including solo and chamber music, and has earned high acclaim for her performances of contemporary music repertoire. She has also been involved in premiering numerous works by notable composers both in Japan and abroad.

She is currently a lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts.
