About

Yukiyo was born in Kamakura on December 8th, 1967. Yukiyo began composing at the age of 17. Debuted with the album "YUKIYO" in 1989 and actively engaged in concert activities. In 1996, she became the first Japanese to perform in the Solomon Islands under the sponsorship of the Japan International Cooperation Fund and various embassies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The performance was praised as a bridge for cultural exchange. In 1998, she was responsible for the theme song for the medal ceremony of the "Nagano Olympics" indoor competition, attracting international attention.

Afterwards, she produced music for several dramas and special programs, arranged and produced for many artists such as the Yoshida Brothers, Hideki Togi, Aoi Teshima, and erhu player Weiwei Wu. She also appeared on TV programs such as travelogues and documentaries, visited various countries, and when she served as the regular MC of NHK's "New Sunday Museum", her calm and well-centered comments, along with songs that matched the program theme, were well received and helped promote her presence.

The albums she has released so far, including "Melodies of Light and Water" in 2006, have recorded remarkable sales for an instrumental album, surpassing 30,000 copies sold. In 2012, she released "Memories of Earth and Water". Since 2015, she has been responsible for producing music for NHK's "news watch9" and "NEWSROOM TOKYO", which are broadcast worldwide. She is active in a wide range of activities, including producing music for TV programs, movies, and event music, as well as serving as a radio personality.

With beautiful and refined pure melodies, emotional and diverse arrangements, and a sense of scale in orchestration, she continues to create gentle music that soothes the hearts of listeners. In her private life, she is a mother of two and actively involved in environmental and child welfare issues.
