    人間椅子 (Ningen-isu / Ningen Isu) is a heavy metal band from Aomori (Japan), which was formed in 1987. The name Ningen Isu, which translated to English means The Human Chair, is taken from a short story by the Japanese author Ranpo Edogawa (Edogawa Rampo). Their sound is heavily influenced by NWOBHM and Black Sabbath while the lyrics are inspired from classic Japanese literature. The band's music styles range from heavy metal, hard rock, doom metal, stoner rock, progressive rock/metal, folk metal, and heavy psych.
