About

Swedish composer, songwriter, author and troubadour, born January 24, 1931 in Rävinge, Halland, Sweden, died May 6, 2022.

After graduating from Halmstad's higher general educational institution in 1951, Hambe graduated as a primary school teacher in Helsingborg in 1954, and then worked as a substitute teacher. He made his debut as a singer in 1959, and was a few years later established as a singer with exclusively his own works in the repertoire. The discography includes about thirty records, and he has also been interpreted by, among others, Alice Babs, Fred Åkerström and Hootenanny Singers.

Hambe's song world is located in Molom, a place in the borderland between the imagination and reality where you "can walk moles alone". Molom borrows its geography from the area around Steninge, where Hambe has lived since the 1960s with his wife Ulla, born Linder (1935–2021).

For Hambe's 75th birthday, the book "Ordmålaren vid Västerhavet" was published, where his friends draw a portrait of him. In January 2008, he received the medal Litteris et Artibus for "outstanding artistic contributions as a writer and songwriter".
