He recorded prolifically, especially for Grey Gull, for which he cut more than 160 tracks. He used many pseudonyms during his audio career; among the names he adopted were: Mr. "X", Bert Trevor, Hugh Donovan, Jim Andrews or Vel Veteran, but these pseudonyms were also used by other singers.
