Barkmarket

Defunct noise rock / industrial rhythm and blues band established in 1987 when Market Sounds released Dave Sardy's 4-track Barkmarket s/t cassette. After getting signed to Market Sounds and working with a rotating cast of musicians for the recording of 1-800-Godhouse (1988, LP), bass duties were entrusted to John Nowlin. It took four different drummers to complete the recording of the follow-up The Easy Listening Record (1989, LP) with Rock Savage eventually settling in to complete the trio. They would go on to release Vegas Throat (1991, LP), Gimmick (1993, LP), Lardroom (1994, EP), Peacekeeper (1995, EP), and L Ron (1996, LP) before quietly disbanding in 1998. Dave Sardy's commitments to studio engineering and production work for other bands eventually became too demanding to maintain both efforts. The final Barkmarket show was on June 7th 1998 at Hof Ter Lo in Antwerp, Belgium.
