Gilmore was recorded in Greenville, Mississippi, on one of Modern's field trips, in January 1952. Recordings made later in 1952 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and in Memphis 1953 were not issued until much later (and partly uncredited, with Gilmore's vocals on "Believe I’ll settle down" not noted).
