Venezuelan singer (salsa, merengue), Matos had a long artistic career because he accumulated more than five decades of musical performances, 56 years in total, time in which he was part of the group "Los Blanco", earning the respect of Zulian artists and above all the audience that so often danced to the sound of his voice.
Some of the collaborations of Cheo Matos were with Gabino Pampini in 2000 with the single Mi Consuelo, with Super Combo Los Tropicales in the year 1970 with the single El Babandi, with Various in 1973 with the single En La Arena, etc..
Matos died due to a heart attack on January 28, 2019, after several days of battling with a critical state of health, framed in a diabetic crisis, and kidney infection, being hospitalized on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the University Hospital of Maracaibo.
