American trumpeter and cornetist, born September 6, 1936. Died November 25th, 1989.

Worked with Ray Draper 1956-1957, performed and recorded with Sun Ra in early 1960s, worked with Pharoah Sanders 1963-1967, recorded with Marzette Watts c. 1964. Formed the New Arts Ensemble in 1967, performed and recorded with Dave Burrell and Sunny Murray in Paris 1969 and with Archie Shepp and own band 1969-1970. In 1976 he became an educational counselor at the African American Institute, an organization supported by UNESCO.
