Country Four

Swedish singing and music group that had success during the 1960s. They played a kind of soft pop country with elements of ballads. The repertoire consisted mostly of Swedish translations of American songs as well as Olle Adolphsson interpretations.

They released their first single in 1965. Members in the band on that single, and on the next one were Hasse Eriksson, Stig Emanuelsson, Kerstin Dahl and Nisse Nilsson. Hasse Eriksson and Stig Emanuelsson wanted soon after that to be replaced, and in came then two new members Gert Avelin and Pierre Isacsson. A new Swedish record company, Amigo Music AB, started in 1966, and Country Four was the first group to release a single on this new Amigo label. And, that first single on the Amigo label sold more than 40 thousand copies. In 1968, Country Four released three singles, and in 1969, the band's last two singles were released. On those five last releases, Lars-Rune Jäverbrant had replaced Gert Avelin as a member of Country Four.
