    Danser med Drenge

Danish soul-rock-reggae band, fronted by lead singer Ida Ambrose, bass player, songwriter & producer Klaus Kjellerup, and keyboard player & co-composer Henrik Stanley Møller who were the founders of Tøsedrengene. The core of the group has been a trio after the untimely death of their guitar player through 31 years, Steffen Qwist, in August 2024.

The band was founded in 1991 by Kjellerup and DmD's first lead singer Philippa Bulgin, and also included keyboard player Jesper Mejlvang at the debut. He left shortly after the debut though, and was replaced by Stanley and Qwist in 1993. However Philippa Bulgin tragically passed away in 1994, aged only 26, one year after the debut album, Danser Med Drenge, which became a massive succes in Denmark thanks to the hit song, Hvor Længe Vil Du Ydmyge Dig?. DmD's second lead singer Rie Rasmussen had her debut on the second album Så Længe Vi Er Her in 1995, which included another hit song Er Der Nogen I Himlen? - a tribute to Philippa Bulgin.

Since then Danser med Drenge has had an impressive career through several decades - the history contains four Grammy-nominations, many no. 1-hits, more than 700 concerts and 15 albums, most of them scoring gold and platinum even 6 x platinum for the compilation Vores Bedste. This album spent eight weeks in a row as no. 1 on the Danish album chart in 2006.. All their albums since year 2000 have been produced and released by Danser med Drenge's own label, Glad Grammofon, often in collaboration with the majors.

After 25 years in the band, Rie Rasmussen left in 2020 and Ida Ambrose became the third lead singer. Today (2024) the core band consists of: Ida Ambrose, vocals - Klaus Kjellerup, bass - Henrik Stanley Møller, keys. Other members of DmD are Kim Thomsen on drums, August Campeotto guitar, Dan Hemmer and Morten Bolvig, keyboards and organ
