American composer, recording artist & vaudeville entertainer.

Born August 12, 1887 in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
Died March 12, 1968 in Miami Beach, Florida, USA .
With Joe Schenck he formed one half of the songwriting and vaudeville team of Van And Schenck. Van was baritone and Schenck was tenor. Schenck played piano as the duo sang and performed comedy routines.
After Schenck's death in 1930, Van continued to perform as a solo artist on stage, screen, and radio. He appeared in many New York produced Soundies in 1941.
