Austrian pianist and songwriter, born 6 July 1927 in Innsbruck, Austria, died 1.2.2018. Studyied at the University Innsbruck (musicology, Dr. phil.) and at the Innsbruck Conservatory (music theory, piano). From 1954 Egger worked for the ORF regional studio in Tyrol (responsible for light music department), where he also worked actively as a pianist in the studio combo. Since the 1980s, Egger has shifted his focus to composing folk and dance music.
