Early wind instruments ensemble founded in 1982, initially directed by Timothy Roberts. The core of the ensemble consists of two cornetts (currently Jeremy West and Jamie Savan) and three sackbutts (currently Abigail Newman, Adam Woolf and Stephen Saunders) accompanied by a harpsichord or chamber organ (currently Gary Cooper), but the group regularly expands when the repertoire demands. It offers mixed vocal/instrumental programmes with a newly formed vocal group, His Majestys Consort Of Voices, directed by HMSC's keyboard player Gary Cooper.
