German saxophone and bandoneon player, composer, arranger and band leader. Founded his own orchestra in the 1960s and got pretty famous with his Jo Ment's Happy Sound, that was inspired by the success of James Last and his typical Happy Sound. After its break up he moved to Orchester James Last in which he played the bandoneon from 1980 until his death. He was born 30.10.1923 in Barmbek (Hamburg) and died 02.10.2002 in Hamburg.
