Died November 3, 2010 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Married to pianist/arranger Jack Pleis (June 16, 1950-December 5, 1990, his death).
Known professionally as Eve Young early in her career, and later as Karen Chandler, she was best known for her 1952 hit, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me", which rose to #5 on the U.S. charts. Her last charted single "I Get Along with You Very Well", hit #19 on the U.S. adult contemporary charts in 1967. She also charted as Eve Young in 1947 with "A Gal in Calico" by Benny Goodman and His Orchestra and in 1948 with "Cuanto Le Gusta", which rose to #29. She charted with two duets: with Jimmy Wakely and "Tonight You Belong to Me"--in 1956 it charted at #49. "My Darling, My Darling", with Jack Lathrop, #26 in 1949. In 1950 in the UK, she had her biggest successes with "(If I Knew You Were Comin') I'd've Baked A Cake" and "Silver Dollar (Roll, Roll, Roll)", recorded as Eve Young & The Homesteaders, each reaching the top of the UK sheet music charts in 1950.
She made her national debut on Benny Goodman's NBC radio showcase on July 8, 1946, becoming the Goodman Orchestra's featured vocalist for the remainder of that year.
Wrote songs under her birth name.
