Lee Schaefer

Folk and jazz singer, and psychotherapist.

Born February 27, 1920 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
Died January 26, 2013 in New York, New York USA.
Born in Milwaukee and raised in Chicago. She was a member of a vocal trio called The Barries from 1941-1945, performing under the name Lee Barrie. By the mid 1950s, she was a member of the folk group, The Wayfarers. In 1964, she completed a Ph.D. at Columbia University and became a psychotherapist.

Married musician & fellow Wayfarers member Hal Schaefer in 1955, marriage ended in divorce.
