Formed production / management company Schwaid-Merenstein and Schwaid-Merenstein with Bob Schwaid and Marty Thau.
His aunt was Bessie (Merenstein) Berman, co-founder of Apollo Records (2)); and his uncle was Charles Merenstein, a co-writer of the song Handy Man.
