About

Mic Christopher was born in the Bronx, New York, in 1969 to Irish parents. They moved back to Dublin, Ireland, in 1972. Mic was a busker in Dublin for about five years (first as a banjo player) where he met numerous people that he would play with over the years. These included Karl Odlum, and David Odlum/Glen Hansard of The Frames.

In 1990, Mic formed The Mary Janes with bass player Karl Odlum, guitarist, Simon Good and Steven Hogan on drums. The Mary Janes finally split in 1999 and Mic embarked on a three-month solo tour of Victoria, Australia.

He also began working on his first solo album but tragically died before completing it. While in Amsterdam, on tour with The Waterboys, was critically injured in an accident and died on 29 December 2001 after two weeks on life support. However, Mic's sister and friends worked on the album after his death, releasing it one year later.
