About

British guitarist, born 23 January 1951 in London, England, UK.
He came to Germany with his parents, as his father was member of the British army. He grew up in Munich. In 1972, he joined Subject ESQ. after the release of their 1972-album. Shortly after he joined, the band renamed to Sahara. In between, he worked for a cover band and he joined [a1196830] for a short time.
In fall 1974, Woodland also left the band Sahara. Shortly, he played for Amon Düül II, but his path led to Giorgio Moroder, for who he became studio guitarist throughout the 1970's and which led to numerous cooperations with well-known artists of the time.
In 1981, he founded his own band [a4272427], which is still active. He was on tour with Marius Müller-Westernhagen for some years and he was musician in the band of Ringsgwandl for more than a decade.
In 2006, he was part of the reunion of Sahara, which lasted until 2019.
