The Buffalodians, dance jazz band founded by Jack McLaughlin, had a large and faithful following around Buffalo, NY in the 1920s. The band owned a ballroom in Buffalo, and played Crystal Beach on the Ontario side of Lake Erie during the summers. Bill Gallagher, operator of the Monte Carlo, hired them to play his NYC venue. Their recordings stem from two sessions in New York City in 1926. Personnel were: Henry Krompart (tp) ; Norman Booth (tb) ; Jules Pillor, Bill Wullen, Ivan Beaty (saxes) ; Jack McLaughlin (violin) ; Charlie Panico (guitar) ; Dick George (piano) ; Harold Raub (bass) ; Harold Tapson (dms) ; Harold Arlen (piano and vocals); Frank Davis (tp) participated in the second session only.
