The Spoons: 1984-1990
There were some Spoons lineup changes:
1984: Mark Carter, Budge Magraw, Phil Joseph, James Fowlds
1984/1985: Mark Carter, Budge Magraw, Phil Joseph, Steve Garnett
1986: Lance Riley, Mark Carter, Budge Magraw, Phil Joseph, Steve Garnett
(During this period, Martin Kitcher stood in for Budge on bass a couple of times when he was sick)
1986: Lance Riley, Mark Carter, Budge Magraw, Phil Joseph, Nick Wellstead
1986/1990: Lance Riley, Budge Magraw, Phil Joseph, Simon Courtney
(During this period we had Pete Dale, and Trev Palfrey on keyboards at different times, each of them added an amazing touch to the live sound, but mainly The Spoons were the 4 piece lineup.
1987 to 89 was The Spoons transition to playing mainly London gigs as well as Bournemouth and was quite a popular period (you had to be there really to witness the sheer power of Simon Courtney’s drumming!!), although all phases had unique character and sound.
1990: Lance Riley, Budge Magraw, Simon Courtney, Mark Riley
Phil Joseph had left the band at the very same moment the debut single was released. Everything hit a downward spiral which resulted in Simon Courtney deciding to leave the band. Without Simon there was no longer any point, and The Spoons was over……
Lance and Budge continued as G.L.O.W and then later as The Bewley Brothers up until late 1994
The Bewley Brothers reprised in 2000 to 2002
