He was member of Jack Hylton And His Orchestra (1929 to 36) and recorded with Spike Hughes (1932) and Benny Carter (1936). He accompanied Louis Armstrong and Coleman Hawkins on their tours of England and Wingy Manone in the United States. He also played with [a=Stephane Grappelli] (1943) and George Chisholm (1944). Then he founded his own group, the Billy Munn's All-Stars..
